A happy musical accident! Slow-Mo of “Jolene” by Parton is equally mesmerizing as the original version

A mistake turned into a good mistake when someone played “Jolene” by Dolly Parton at 33rpm speed and forgot adjusting it to 45 rpm. A new haunting transformation of 1973 classic spread in the air as the music played.

In 2004, Rolling stone magazine published a list called “the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time” and placed “Jolene” on 217 ranking. Parton says that out of all the songs she wrote, “Jolene” is the most recorded song by other artists.

For the category of Female Country Vocal Performance, it was nominated for two Grammy awards. For the first one, for its original release, and for the second time for a live one. although it did not win an award, still it won Parton a Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance following 43 years of its release with respect to the cover sung by a capella group Pentatonix in which Parton was featured as well.
